A Brief History of WeVote

WeVote is a platform that was founded with the goal of creating a more informed and democratic society. When we first launched back in 2015, we were met with an overwhelmingly positive response and were able to achieve a number of impressive successes in our early years. However, as with any organization, we have also faced a number of challenges and setbacks along the way.

One of the biggest challenges we have faced is the legal battle to protect our trademark. This has been a long and complex process, but one that we believe is essential in order to safeguard the integrity of our brand and to ensure that we can continue to operate under the name WeVote. Despite this challenge, we have remained committed to our mission and have worked tirelessly to find a resolution that allows us to continue to serve our community.

Another challenge we have faced is the need to reorganize from a for-profit corporation to a 501c3 non-profit. This was a difficult decision, but one that we believe was necessary in order to align our operations more closely with our mission and to better serve the needs of our community. The process of reorganization has not been easy, but we are proud to say that we have successfully made the transition and are now a fully-fledged non-profit organization.

Despite these challenges, our mission has remained unchanged: to create a more informed and democratic society through access to reliable information and the ability to engage in informed debates. We are as committed as ever to this goal and are excited for what the future holds. In 2023, we are looking forward to a nationwide relaunch of our platform, and we are confident that with the support of our community, we will be able to continue to make a positive impact in the world of civic engagement.

So, where do we go from here? We are focused on continuing to grow and improve our platform, and on finding new and innovative ways to engage with our community. We are committed to creating a space where individuals can come together to share information and debate issues in an equal and fair arena, and we believe that this is more important now than ever before. In a time when our public sphere is increasingly divided and polarised, we are dedicated to finding ways to bring people together and to foster a more intelligent and engaged public policy process. We are excited for what the future holds and are looking forward to continuing to work with our community to create a better world for us all.
